Here are my views...
I believe in the evolution of life on our planet. I believe that it is very likely that there are other planets in our universe where life has also evolved previously or will evolve beings that equal or surpass us in intelligence and other traits that make us human. Given some of the incredible theories that people have proposed, I don't disagree that our universe could be one of many that have existed before and one that comes before many that will exist in the future.
Now, none of my beliefs disprove any idea that God exists. My belief is that he doesn't exist, but IF he did, I don't believe that humans would be the only beings that are "the children of God". I would tend to believe that other species on other planets that came to our level were also children of God and also had souls.
(My belief is that IF God existed, that at some point in our evolutionary history God decided to give us souls - otherwise, all life on earth must have souls)
Another belief that I have is that nothing exists without purpose.
Given my beliefs, every soul that comes to heaven (whether it comes from only humans, or other species from other times or other places as well) must have a purpose for being there. It would seem that as the human race continues to grow (and then die), the number of souls is increasing. With this ever increasing number of souls, I wonder what is the purpose for God to be bringing all these souls back to him? What does he want? Why would he create an infinite number of souls just to come stay in heaven after living a life on earth or some other place? I can't think of a purpose.
