£60 fine, three penalty points on my license, and a lesson in not speeding in a residential area, a hundred and fifty sodding yards from my driveway.

er, that's why it's called the "english" system

at anyrate, fine AND a class, sounds pretty hardcore
 
99 in a 45, I was slowing down. Then 104 in a 70, knew the officer, still got a $200 ticket.

Now I drive a police car. I still get caught and stopped but I trade patches with them and they leave smiling...no tickets!

All you have to do is do the speed limit and you'll never have anything to worry about! (speed wise)
I just love it when my friends get pulled over for speeding and they constantly go on about it. They even have expensive radar/laser detectors. I'm 31 and my record is still as clean as a whistle. I speed on occasion but I know where to without getting caught. Try 130 in a 45! If I get caught I won't Whine & Cry about it!

I hate when people start whining about contesting the speeding ticket they recieve. It's a bunch of BS! SLOW THE HELL DOWN and pay your damn TICKET! **LOL**

Maybe it's like soccer teams... they trade patches with other PDs and keep them on a ring on their gym bags. I mean donut bags. 😛 (not a cop hater)
 
wow how does the point system work? Sounds quite interesting actually. We should have something like that in the states! Like when you reach a certain level of points, you have to take some sort of driving class to prove that you're still capable of driving....

Given that all speed limits are artificially low anyway, it's not surprising that a lot of people are upset over getting a ticket. If I felt that I should be compelled to go at the exact same legal speed as an old pickup truck towing a trailer of lawn care equipment, then I would, but I don't. However, the speed limit says I should.
 
my mistake, when you said lesson, i thought you also have to take a class.


I get to take an online class to have my speeding ticket dismissed and removed from my record. :thumbsup:
