Actually, I REALLY hate them when I need them.

Am I the only person here that thinks our entire legislative and judicial system needs a overhaul? Every single little thing is dragged through months of debate and procedures, giving every lawyer a way to get in on the piece of the pie.

Not to say lawyers are useless, but we only need them cause the law is needlessly complicated. And considering congress, the senate, and the judicial system is comprised primarily of lawyers, well, thats not too surprising.

The problem is that those very mechanisms that you complain about are the very ones that protect your freedom (like procedural due process, for example.)

People have been thinking that since the signing of the Articles of Confederation. You wanna tackle that job? Face it...you might complain, but I'd take a developed, comfortable, litigious society over a third-world country any day of the week.

True, but I'm not saying that due process needs to be done away with. Its like our laws have become an old installation of windows 95. Then we install 98 over that, and 2000 over that, and xp over that. By that point, I'd be amazed if the computer is still working.

This place needs a reformat.
