It was no attempt to get a rise out of you- it was an honest question. Unless you are very young then there is no reason why you should not be fully aware of the fact that what is considered high resolution has changed a staggering amount over the years based on the hardware we have had available to us. I quite clearly recall when VGA was astounding resolution- and extremely pricey if you wanted that wonder of res. I posted links to demonstrate even in a relatively short span of time- the last six years- what is considered high resolution has changed an enormous amount. Now I don't expect posters here to recall what moving from punch cards to displays was like, but I do expect them to recall the Voodoo2 days by default. If they don't- I assume that they are quite young. If you are not quite young- why is it that you don't realize with great clarity that what is considered high resolution has been evolving all along? I know you won't answer this, but for those reading it I want to make certain that the point gets across. I provided links to back up my assertion- explenations as to why I make the claims and I offered context for the subject matter at hand and how it relates.

I have to believe that you are less of a jerk in real life, becuase I do not know of anyone who put up with an attitude and superiority complex such as yours.

To those such as you in real life I am far worse then anything you have seen here, I can assure you of that.

Additionally, your wife must only be with you for your money, because I certainly could see you giving her the same disrespect as you give all of us.

My wife has adopted one of my phrases that she enjoys using greatly- "Stupid people p!ss me off". I do not show disrespect towards others until it is directed my way. Read anything I have written towards anyone carefully- make sure to cross reference it with a linguist if you have any doubts as to exactly what was said.

I have- repeatedly. You are the one that needs to now offer a rebuttal. I have posted links showing the benches of the part in question and how it responds to the resolutions we are discussing, I have posted links to the status of evolving resolution standards over the years also. I am waiting for anything resembling logic to try and refute any of it. All your kind have been doing is attacking me. You are wise in that respect, you will have much greater gains in doing that then you will in trying to disprove what I have been saying.

I tend to be accused of being a fanboy of whatever fanboy doesn't like what I am saying. On the console forums they think I'm a console fanboy, most of the nVidiots think of me as an ATi fanboy and most of the fanATics think of me as a nV fanboy.

As I stated to start with, and it still stands- if you are running a monitor with a low resolution such as the Dell FP2005 it doesn't make sense to move from a x800xl to a 7800GT.

Essentially you are a crime to humanity.

I like my gtx so much, I bought two. I'm glad I moved up, the x800xl I had just didn't cut it at the native resolution of an l2335.

Well Im playing 1600x1200 2xAA (Which I think is better than 1280x960 4xAA) and 16xAF and its always "smooth". Framerate gets low sometimes Im sure but its never unplayable. Never dips under 25-30 for more than a sec or 2.

compgeek referring to your sig, there is no fx-54 nor is your 3500+ even close to it because your L2 cache is only 512K. Nor should you post fabricated 3dmark scores at speeds your video card can't sustain. So many mistakes and deception in your sig does not give you a good rep.

As if you think i dont know about L2. But 200mhz - 512k L2 = addition 100 to CPU rating and since the FX-53 is 2.4ghz with 1MB L2.... well, my logic makes 100% sense.

2nd, I'll take those clocks out so you think thats my normal 3D Mark score if you want. Gimme a break, everyone OCs like mad for 3D Mark. If you dont well then you can go cry in a corner that everyone else does ALL BY YOURSELF.
