GOD ********* **** ****** this sucks!!

capacitor decided to smoke on the right hand side of my memory modules, i believe the board is no longer under warranty. and i HOPE it did not take my memory with it. now, it will post up to C1 (which i believe is memory) and then restart itself.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

my motherboard decided to take a sh!t and burn up on me BAHHHHHHHH anyone know abits warranty?? ive had the computer for about 1.5 years and just tried to resinstall it in a new case. this sucks.

this is why I don't buy Abit 🙂

but honestly, I am not sure what their warranty is like... I doubt after 1.5 years it's covered, but I could be wrong.

damnit, now it just gives me reason to spend money on an AMD 64.

hmm, time to post and see what ppl think of a mobo. i need the computer NOW.

Abit and Asus are wonderful with there replacement policy's I don't think you well have any problems the only problem I see for you is time it takes a while to get the replacement's

i think ill rma the board, but i will get an amd64 setup in the meantime and proceed to sell the p4 1.8a and abit board.

o yea, they are closed too.

The smoke is what makes your machine go. Lose the smoke and your toast! 😉

[perhaps someone can post that the way it's supposed to be?]

Yup, mad skillz! 🙂

I think Abit was the first to admit that their boards used the faulty capacitor formula and has been replacing all without problems...

well its all working, im posting from it now, except for one slight problem. my drivers for my gpu are Fvcked so i have to boot into safe mode to get it to work.

i wish i had my xp cd somewhere.

if you don't overclock and want rock solid stability,

and you use a pentium,

I always get my clients intel boards....never have any problems like you mention (at least not yet)....i use intel boards at home, and they are very very rock solid. Used to work there and they are tested extensively and very thoroughly.

AMD get an Nforce board....although reliability is unknown and not sure which manufacturer.

I have built a couple Abit systems for people, overclocked, and running strong for over 2 years..

Can't go wrong with Abit.
