God of War for PS2 - $19.99 @ BB & others

God of War is now $19.99 at many major retailers, confirmed at BB, EB & Walmart and probably others. I couldn't find it on CC's site. It's sold enough copies and been out for long enough to become a Greatest Hits but I don't know if that's what triggered the drop.

Let me sum it up this way, I can say with a large degree of confidence that this is the best console game I've ever played. I'm definitely a PC FPS person and I've had a PS2 for about 3+ years but other than Madden I never really had anything that kept my interest. I rented this game a few months ago and I was hooked from the beginning. The graphics are the best I've seen on a console, it supports 480p and native widescreen. If it wasn't for climbing the gd tower of spikes it might give HL1 a run for it's money on top game ever in my book.

Anyways, great game, great price...I'm hoping the price drop means GoW2 is coming out soon.

edit: added GT4 to the title, didn't realize that it (or anything on the PS2) does 1080i until I just read some reviews...might have to check that out

Glad to see this as my copy got scratched :frown: up by the rugrats and I only made it through about 1/2 of the game but couldn't (well, actually wouldn't) shell out another $50 for another copy since I had been unable to backup this dual density dvd. Now let's hope they didn't erase my save game to put something else on the card!:D

Supposedly Gran Turismo 4 is a GH now too.

Now I just gotta wait until CC or BB does one of those buy 2 get 1 free deals again :)

Yep, God of War and GT4 both went Greatest Hits this week. Awesome deal on 2 of the arguably best PS2 games ever.

GOW was best game i played last year.
Sorry, gt4 was overrated. pgr2 and forza were better driving games.

I heard GT4 online was going to come out this year. But I may just pick this up along with GoW. Been waiting for that to come down in price.

Great game. I felt was the best PS2 game last year. If you like third person, free roaming games, do yourself a favor and get this game.

You guys might also want to check out Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, which became a GH title about a month or so ago. Not only did they take a great game like DMC3 and lower the price, but Capcom actually ADDED more content to the game for the GH version, including being able to play as Dante's brother! A great game made even better and cheaper!

BTW OP thanks for the heads-up on this. I've been waiting to pick up this game since I knew it had to be a GH sooner or later.

I just started playing this game and i'm completely WOW'd.

The graphics and gameplay and sound are the best i've ever seen on any platform, including xbox360.

Awesome game! :thumbsup:
