The road was completely empty, as it's a business park and I was driving on a Sunday afternoon. I know driving 95 is stupid on a public road, but I was doing it anyways. Anyways, as I was driving, a cop passes me on the other side of the road, and although I see him, I obviously can't slow down enough for him to know I was clearly speeding. When he passed me, I was going at least 80.

He then made a sharp U-Turn in the middle of the road, and started to follow me. At this point, I was sure I was screwed. That's a BIG ass ticket, considering its 55 over the limit, and I was getting ready to pull over. After a few seconds of following me with his lights off, he made another U-Turn and continued on his way. Obviously, by this point, I was driving under the limit.

No clue why he did it, but damn am I thankful.

Maybe he didn't clock you but turned around and tried to get you but you were already going too slow and then he remembered that he had to remove the hair balls from his cat and clean out his barbecue before his neighbor calls him a fathead and then they probably hug and hold eachother until his wife comes home and makes them both hot chocolate.

This answer is probable.

This answer is partly probable.

Either
1: He didn't clock you and couldn't prove you were going that fast
or
2: He could prove it but you slowed down and he is either too lazy to give you a ticket or feels like he accomplished his objective (getting you to slow down and scaring the crap out of you).

How was your heart rate?

I never went that fast except on a straight highway where there's no cars in the lane and a more expensive car is doing it. Which only happened twice.

Probably didn't have instant-on radar. A lot of the city cruisers around here don't.

SLC and KK,

There's a BIG difference in doing 5-15 miles over the 65 MPH speed limit on the f'n highway in order to keep up with the flow of traffic in order to not get run over (which I and many others do on a daily basis) and doing 55+ miles over the speed limit in town.

If either of you two tools feel the need to dispute that then you're even bigger dumbasses than first evidenced by your initial comments.

I think it's pretty safe to say that most of us aren't dumb enough to do 95 in a 40...

I completely agree. Driving 95 in an area where there's cars around is stupid, reckless, and pointless. However, this place is known for being completely deserted during the weekend. I have no idea why a cop car was there to begin with, but not a car was in sight. Not a justification, but it's not as bad as it sounds...

Lol I know this guy with a corvette who claims he has the secret to INSANE travel time on the road. Plan a route with a high frequency of exits. Go at night/early morning when no ones's on the road, and go >100 mph with lights off. If the cops find you, just exit off and drive around a little, then back to the road. Idea is that a stopped cop still has to accelerate, and if you're going fast enough with an exit nearby you're literally out of sight by the time the cop gets up to speed.

Never ridden with him, but he claims to have cut a 8 hour drive down to 5 hours with this method.
