Shepherd Smith on Fox said Barrack Obama stepped in personally to have God and Jerusalem specifically put back into the platform.

edit: Link I just saw on CNBC website: http://www.cnbc.com/id/48919345
"President Barack Obama personally intervened to change language in his party's platform that snubbed Israel's claim to Jerusalem as its capital and omitted mention of God, campaign officials said Wednesday.

The officials said Obama's reaction on the omission of God from the platform was to wonder why it was removed in the first place."

America has no national interest whatsoever in whether or not Jerusalem is the capitol of Israel. There is no state interest in asserting the existence of a god. Therefore these two political positions are pure pandering of no consequence. But it's their convention so whatever floats their boat.

LOL!

MSNBC last night said that the election was all but over. They showed obama with 266 Electoral College votes.

Oh God is so all definitly back. The problem is which God we believe in? Is it the Christian GOD, or maybe the Israeli God, or maybe the Islamic GOD, or maybe the Hindu God. Or actually the God of another creed?

And does it really matter, which God we believe in when its the universal religious claim is to say kill kill kill in only the name of our GOD.

Maybe God may have created the heavens and the earth, but I think God gave up in digust shortly after creating human beings maybe 200,000 years ago. As a hopelessly failed experiment that went totally wrong

The embarrassing reversal was compounded by chaos and uncertainty on the convention floor, requiring three votes before a ruling that the amendments had been approved. Many in the audience booed the decision.

The episode exposed tensions on Israel within the party, put Democrats on the defensive and created a public relations spectacle as Obama arrived in the convention city to claim his party's nomination for a second term.

I don't recall ever seeing such disarray, disorganization and incompetence in a convention etc. I'm really surprised. I have about as much love for David Axelrod as the average Progressive has for Karl Rove, but I think he's pretty damn smart and I'm shocked he hasn't been more out-in-front preventing these kinds of screw-ups. Is no one in charge of this convention and it's themes and messages etc.?

Yeah that was embarrassing and it seemed a case of it's being passed no matter how you vote. No way that was two thirds.

Edit: from what I saw afterward the bulk of the dissent was on adding God back in, not Jerusalem.

LOL Yeah our president has no knowledge of his party's platform.... and why should he, he's only the president.

Always nice to get the altered reality view on things, to know the latest delusions being proposed, the latest irrelevant minutia conservatives have spread Tabasco sauce on and shoved up their ass. Meanwhile these scum bag patriots want to keep Americans from going to the polls, bunch of psychotic immoral bastards worshiping Satin as God and all because their brains are structured in a way that keeps them from being able to rationally think. Let me show you what you sound like.

You are a perfect example, thank you.

If anything shows how distorted the Democrat Party is with its collection of fringe, and often diametrically opposed, interests, it is this.

The atheist vs the Islamists vs the old timey blue haired unionist vs the self destructive "progressive" Jewish contingent vs the Palestinian state advocates vs homosexuals vs the freebie grabbers vs the kill the babies partial birth abortion advocates vs the panderers to all of the above.

Can't they all just get along? :awe:

I know who should be outraged. And based on the videos of the vote, were -

Everyone who voted NO and had their votes nullified by the pandering Party elites.

Democracy, Democrat style!

How DARE they refuse to rubber stamp amendments that most in that crowd despise!

Most there seem to want to have Israel turned over to Hamas for a new Jihadistan.

Most there seem to be atheists and believe God is a manifestation of mental imbalance.

But watch how they swoon when their Chosen Idol takes the stage tonight!

Religion ought to be a personal, private matter. All of this pseudo-piety from both major parties is nauseating.

Don't even get me started on the grip that AIPAC has on our politicians...

This IS the anti-God & anti-country party

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/OTUS...rm-include-god/story?id=17164108#.UEi8WsX8mZa

they had to try 3 times and if you ask me more opposed than favored it.

Yeah, I saw it on TV after logging out last night.

It most certainly did not get the 2/3 majority needed to pass. The Chairman (Mayor V of LA?) looked stupefied. He called for a vote 3 times? That just cemented the fact it failed, yet he declared it passed anyway. (A political pro would have just done that on the first vote, no need to hammer home it was rigged. I thought I saw instructions to vote "Yes" on the TV monitors the delegates can see? My God, what a mess.)

Something's wrong at the Dem convention, or in the organization. IMO, David Axelrod is far too smart, slick and organized to let this fustercluck happen. Someone other than him must actually be in charge. Something is up.

Vladimir Putin of all people said it best:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Putin#Religion

When asked whether he believes in God during his interview with Time, he responded saying: "…There are things I believe, which should not in my position, at least, be shared with the public at large for everybody's consumption because that would look like self-advertising or a political striptease."

Not sure a whole lot is wrong at the Democratic convention, but I will agree that this was a major F'up as far as what expected in American politics.

After all, we all believe in Gawd, it's in the constitution, somewhere I'm sure.

Yup, the party elites rule the day, unlike in the Republican party where the psychopaths are in control and folk like you are just little piss and shills forced into a state of delusion to keep from vomiting your last meal.
