M-Audio Revolution + Klipsch Promedia v2-400 + Foobar (Kernel Streaming) = UberGoodness

Anyone else bask in the greatness of this program?

Sure the GUI is lacking, but the sound more than makes up for it. :)

It works well even with plain soundcards, and supports FLAC natively for lossless goodness.

It crashes on me. However, I am keeping track of it...
What is it that makes it and XMMS sound cleaner than Winamp?
However, it is definitely getting better, and will replace Winamp for me one of these days.
...and I've only got onboard sound :).
It probably would already have repalced Winamp, except AFAIK, there isn't a LiteStep plug-in for it.
If it had a volume control I'd use it over Winamp as well.

use HOTKEYS and you'll never have to do that.

aphex welcome to Foobar.

...and it's got just as minimal documentation...little things like how to change the skin left out...foobar itself is at least very intuitive.

Err, I hate using hotkeys. It's easier to click "next" on Winamp and switch back to the app I was using than clicking on Foobar, pressing a hotkey, then going back. :)

pretty cool, trying it out, yes there is no sign of a gui there, but its not that bad
not good enough to replace winamp

I'm still trying to figure out what's so special about it. It definitely sounds different, but right now it just sounds like it has a lot more echo.

Ya, I went ahead and selected kernel streaming. I've been comparing it with wmp8 and foobar does sound better on certain songs. It seems to accentutate the higher frequencies or something... but foobar seems to sound thinner when playing more rock/guitar driven songs. Further listening is required I suppose.

I don't notice a difference between the kernal streaming and Winamp with my speakers.. gonna check with headphones now.

Foobar sounds better with kernal streaming than Winamp when I use my headphones.. blah. Hope Winamp implements it since I hate the GUI of Foobar. :(
