So I'm eating some breakfast this morning, while my parents are sitting in the living room hunched over and drooling while watching the Fox News channel, like usual. All damn morning they (== FNC) have been going on and on and on about everything that's wrong with Syria and why they should be next for "regime change".

GOD DAMNIT! AREN'T 2 FVCKING WARS ENOUGH FOR YOU BLOODTHIRSTY BASTARDS? We're not even done with the war we started with Iraq and these fvcks are already flapping their gums about who we should attack next! I'll bet within a month they'll have a good third of the American public convinced that Syria was responsible for 9/11, just like they did with Iraq.

And if that's not bad enough, they continue to bash the French every opprotunity they get. Every other thing they say is "The French have ties to...", "The French say that...", "A Frenchman did...", and so on. How long are they going to keep this sh!t up?

:|

Edit: And another thing, stop saying that you give "Real journalism, fair and balanced." Al Jazeera is more "fair and balanced" than you! :|
Edit 2: Clarified who I'm calling "fvcks" and "bloodthirsty bastards". This rant is directed at the FNC, not my parents, who I only bring into this because they refuse to watch anything but the FNC.

The Mandate is for war against all countries that sponsor terrorism. Syria promotes and sponsors and harbors these groups.

Sorry to hear your parents drool.

Show me some proof.
By the way, Bush saying "Syria supports terror" is not proof, and Fox News saying "Syria aids terrorists" is not proof.

All the news channels are talking about the Syria situation this morning as well as North Korea. Go outside and get some fresh air.

Do a search on Hezbollah, Syria, Iran and Lebanon and you will have all the info. you need.

Umm we didn't start the war with Iraq. Iraq started it when they invaded Kuwait. The first gulf war never officially ended. There was just a ceasefire. Iraq failed to comply with the terms of the ceasefire for 12 years so we finished the war.

You'll be UNhappy to know that FOX WON the ratings war

But then, so did Al Jazeera in its "target" audience. ;)

Well DUH, everyone knows that American viewers care more about exciting rhetoric and big explosions then facts and legitimate journalism.[/quote]

Show proof please.

Have you had this conversation with your parents, or are you beating them up here?

Well it is true that Syria does have ties to terrorism I think we need to finish our stuff in Iraq first.

I don't drool when I watch FOX News ... unless the female reporter or newscaster is HOT. Then, I make an exception. ;)

People believe what they want and others won't believe even when the evidence is overwhelming.

Are there terrorist groups operating in Syria......probably.

PS: The middle east is the slums of the world, I really don't care how it happens but they need to be modernized some how some way. War is ugly and brutual but we need something to break the stranglehold these arab governments have over there own people.

Interesting...

Recently, in the pages of Policy Review?a conservative journal that is enjoying the vogue and influence in right-leaning circles that Commentary did in the nineteen-eighties?Ken Jowitt, a political-science professor who divides his time between the Hoover Institution and the University of California at Berkeley, challenges a ?magic bullet? scenario in which the toppling of Saddam will act as a regional democratic stimulus so powerful that the Iranians will suddenly rise up against the ayatollahs, the autocrats of Egypt and Jordan will liberalize, and the Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad, ?being an ophthalmologist, will see the regional writing on the wall.? Jowitt is rightly dubious of an ongoing evangelical adventure. He writes, ?The magic bullet scenario effectively transforms and elevates a local, dangerous-but-mundane effort to remove a pathological killer, Saddam Hussein, into a successful democratic crusade that transforms the ?last? anti-modern, anti-democratic capitalist region of the world: the Muslim Middle East. One might at least consider the fate of earlier Western crusades.?

Maybe you should consider talking about the issue with your folks.

I haven't watched FOX "news" in a my excellent compatriot's Age but of course there's a push to rid the world of just a bit more Evil. What did you expect? We're on a high right now.

Syria possibly has a nuclear capability + they do provide some info. on al queda when pressed...well bribed, most likely. Bottom line: we won't be invading Syria unless there is opportunity.

I watch FOX news quite a bit.

Quite entertaining.....moreso than the other two big ones.

But you'd have to be a silly FOOL to believe they are "fair and balanced."

Maybe they are just trying to balance out the heavily unbalanced leftist view of the other networks by making heavily unbalanced views of the right.

Yeah but the thing is, they claim they're fair and balanced. It's alright that they're not, I have no problem with the fact that they lean right, hell it's a good thing to see a different point of view no matter what one it is. But just don't outright lie about it. If you?re biased, you're biased, who gives a crap, we all are anyway, but don't claim you're not. It's tacky and hurts your credibility.
