God ford pisses me off. Look at the new mustang

WTF were they thinking? i hate when they do stupid sh1t like this and they seem to do it more and more often.

i'm a huge ford diehard too.

but the door/windows on the new mustang. there is a stupid little black strip that runs around the outside of the window but it's not part of the door, it's part of the body of the mustang so that when you open the door the window has to come down just a bit. it's a mechanical thing bound to fail, then you will have to pay mucho dinero to get fixed.

WTF were they thinking?

more and more ford designers and engineers seem to work separately and can't get together.

why the fvck did i decide that i would like fords at such a young age? (i've loved fords since i was 7 yrs old.)

because you're using a car as a replacement for an emotional void. were you abandoned as a child?

ok. so it's INTENTIONAL?

god, add mechanical complication to something that should be simple friction?

weird.

Have you bought a new car lately? A LOT of new cars do this. It's usually in luxury and high end sports cars though.

Actually, almost all highend manufacturers have been doing this for years.

I remember in the 70s and 80s how cars with framless doors would start to leak after a few years. This system cures that.

It's a GOOD thing. I don't know why you're bitching.

they can use the same door for the convertible, so it makes the thing cost less.

and yeah, lots of expensive cars have windows that move up and down a hair each time you open and close the door

Are you serious? The window as to actually open a bit to open the door?

What happens if you wash your car and it gets below freezing overnight and your windows freeze up and *can't* open? Are you saying you can't open the doors? If so, that's freakin unreal.

OK, so i can go back to liking Fords again then?

It's to insure a good seal. It helps with road noise. I beleive if it's a large window it also helps keep the window aligned.

my mom's VW convertible does this, so does the 305z.

i'm with you though -- seems like something unnecessary that is waiting to fail. Just give me full framed doors.

full framed doors look like ass on a convertible. but i'm like you, i prefer them on non-convertibles.

I don't know anything about the window/door thing, but I will say the new Mustang is UBER sexy. God I wish I had a job and money. 😀

edit: and so is this

That's just ugly.

I think the new Mustang looks pretty damn good... then again, I know a lot of people think it now looks hideous, so what do I know?

And GTOs are ugly.

Corvette has always been the best-looking domestic sports car, even if it does come dangerously close to being a chick car (you know, that chasm the Mustang convertibles fell into a long time ago).

😕

No this is ugly. Nasty. Bleh. Bleh x2.
LMFAO @ the Aztek... WTF were they thinking?!

You gotta admit, the Aztek takes the cake by FAR....

The Element doesen't look good in gold.. lol.

What's wrong with the Echo?

I like the xB. 😛 It looks better than the Element. I've said it before and I'll say it again, what the hell is wrong with it? It's a god damn small-van, if it was shaped like a car that would defeat the purpose. Seriously, it doesen't look bad from the front. Although that bumper is a bit much. 😉

I reeeeally like the new Mustang. So much, in fact, that I think I'll go buy one here pretty soon (3-4 weeks?)

Uhh yeah, I agree with you on all points, but... this is a real car. Not something with tons of 'pretty' crap thrown on it.
