God damnit, my primary monitor's shaking.

Lower it to 60Hz, it's not like you'll notice a significant difference. And it'll last longer so you can get the cash needed to upgrade.

YMMV greatly on that one :p

I personally would not run a CRT at 60Hz if I were going to be spending any significant time staring at it. If it's the monitor's time, then so be it. :p

I've never run above 60Hz on any CRT that I've owned. This one is supposed to be stable at 85, but it's not. It's not stable at anything above 60 and I have no problem with that, since I got it for 30 bucks.

I suppose it's a personal preference thing. I personally can't stand the flickering at 60Hz on a CRT, although many of my friends seem not to notice (or care?). Of course, I have an LCD now anyway so it doesn't matter anymore for the most part...

You definitely can't complain for a $30 monitor though

It's all I've ever used. I don't even really understand how it could affect the picture THAT much to have it at say 70 or 80Hz.

It's not a big deal to me. Most of the people on this forum have a lot more cash to toss around than me so I'll stick with 60Hz any day.

Yeah, $30 for 19" of sweet CRTness.

I'm hoping it'll last me for a year or so, and by then I hope to be able to get an LCD. Not only will they be cheaper but hopefully better.

As for the refresh rate, see my above post. While I may have gotten used to 1280x960 reeeal fast, much like I got used to cable from dialup, the refresh rate is not the same. If I can still play my games, edit my video, and browse the net, then I'm cool at 60.
