no it's not.
Working now.

Yeah, it's a house centipede.

Why did you kill it? They're beneficial, they eat spiders.
I swear you've chastised people in other threads for killing spiders in their homes because they eat bugs. So which is it?

Actually, I meant the car service driving me home.

That was some crazy stuff. Everything went blue and the car seemed to jump in the air.

The picture is decieving, they max out at 1.5 inces, or so the page says.

No way.

I've had some that were about 4-5" long. Huge mess when I stomped them too.

House centipedes can easily get 3" long if you measure leg-to-leg. Their bodies rarely get over 2" long.

Doggiedog, silverfish are real bugs, but they are very different than house centipedes.

Ditto that.
Heh no way.. centipedes are just bugs, spiders are the debil!!11 :p

Btw, here's a silverfish illustration. They look only vaguely similar, with the centipedes having a thinner body, having more and longer legs, and being bigger on average.

I hate those things, bugs kinda creep me out to begin with, but those mofos are fast as hell too.

unlike house centipedes, real centipedes will bite you.

I probably have.

There are beneficial spiders, too. Primarily the daddy-longlegs looking ones that live in your bathroom(typically). They eat and complete for food/space with the nasty looking funnel web weavers, including the hobo spider.

ZV: That's just silly. It is impossible to keep bugs out of your home, sans the use of toxic sprays and insecticides. They were there on your property first.

Now, I'm not talking about things like carpenter ants and termites. If they're eating your house, you should probably do something about it.

But I find this whole "EEEEEK!!!!!!! A BUG!!!!!!!! DIEEEEE!" thing to be silly, especially when it comes to spraying insecticides inside your home.

It doesen't have anything to do with being dirty, unless maybe we're talking about ants.
