Sucks.

Off topic slightly - not that you'd want to claim $100 on insurance but you should get apartment insurance. I'm paying about $100 a year for $12k coverage which will be a big fat check if the place burns down, or I get robbed or whatever. By default you don't have it and your apartment building's insurance does not cover your personal belongings.

While it does suck why did you leave your laundry unattended? The apartment complex won't give you sh!t because there is probab;y a sign saying don't leave your sh!t unattended.

I guess that's the risk you take when you don't watch your laundry. I don't think the Apartment complex will give you anything.

The laundry room is probably there for your convenience.

I believe i pay $156 a year for $15,000 coverage. Its so cheap that it is dump not to have. Renter's insurance is very nice. I'm thinking of bumping mine up to $20,000, though.

Yeah I'm thinking of upping mine to about $650k to make sure that everything is covered 😉

Where do you get renter's insurance?

I've been told from the same place you have your auto insurance, but I don't have auto insurance (no car)...

Viper GTS

I threw them in the dumpster, jerk. Next time don't go off and leave them when I want to use the machine.

That's just my way of saying you might want to check the trash.

You can get renter's insurance from Geico... very cheap. remember that friend of a friend with the fire? He's getting a $20k check for all the "old crap" he used to own. He's going to get everything new with some cash left over.

The apartment complex house mostly college students, and he was only one of the few who's got renter's insurance. Sucks to be stuck with out one.

I think his deductable was $1k or 2k, but since his listed damages goes over the covered amount, he's getting the full amount.

Just look in yellow pages under insurance - there will be a part for home owner or renter or something. I think the majority of insurance companies do renters - mine is not through progressive (who i have car with). Oh, my deductible is pretty low to like $500 or maybe $250. The way I see it is if you're having a hard time by a big loss the last thing you need is a wicked deductible too.
