I talked to one of my CS professors about a project like this almost 2 years ago, and he said it would never work. No reason to replace CVS.

I don't understand. Why do I need this? Is it just for the purpose of having multiple people working on the same file at the exact same time?

The only cool thing I can see about it is the colouring by developer, but that wouldn't be all that difficult to layer onto cvs/svn if anybody really wanted it.

Yeah, but that's not going to give you a whole lot of functionality that isn't already in cvs is it?

Anways, "waiting" for it? I thought they were already using it on openbsd.

Not yet. It's taking a while, which is good. They need to make sure nothing big'll go wrong when they convert the last 10 years of Theo's life over to a new system.
