Go with the 9800GTX+ or splurge on a 260?

Seems the really good deals have dried up a bit, so I'm waiting a few days to see what happens after xmas...and I just got a gift to spend, so I'm looking at upgrading my eVGA 8600GTS SC. But this new card would go into an older machine that probably isn't going to be upgraded for at least a year:

Bad Axe 2
x6800 o/c 3.3
PP&C S75QB
ViewSonic G220f (primary) @ 1600x1200

I won't be running insane 19+ rez in games, and would upgrade other components before I consider upgrading my monitor, my mobo isn't PCI-e 2.0, my proc is probably a bottleneck, etc...so if I'm not mistaken, going with a 260, even in the cheaper 192 flavor, would probably be overkill, correct? Cuz when I look at the landscape, it seems to me the price/perf spot for my system is a 9800GTX+.

Hell no, you'll be able to crank up AA with a GTX260 at 16x12. And that X6800 is still a very good CPU! Running at 3.3GHz is plenty fast. Also, PCI-e 2.0 means squat for single cards, you'll be fine. I'd say if you got the $$$ grab a GTX260.
