I had the K8USA and it was a rebadged AMD 8151 chipset so I don't know why they elude to it as ALi successfully creating a performance chipset for K8? Seems to me that AMD deserves most the credit for that one. The Ali stuff that was on the K8USA was none to impressive either, the SATA controller wasn't even compatable with Raptors. I hope they worked out all the bugs and have a winner this time because we could use another real contender in the K8 chipset game.

Huh, neat.
I don't know, though...I have a lot more faith in SiS and NVidia than I do ULi (ALi?).

I like the Combo chipset idea and my IWill XP-333-R is still running strong with an 1700XP@ 2.2GHz so I may give it a whirl if the 2nd review is good then I can use my 754 Sqaure until the 939's come down in price...:p

More power to you :) I just have a bad taste still leftover from Ali pooching what was a very fine board by tacking on a half-a$$ed SATA controller. They need to learn to price competitively again too, the K8USA is overpriced even though it's $36 less than when I had it.

RAID wasn't of any importance to me but I couldn't use the raptor I had at all :( Paying $183 for a board with a controller that was faulty was too much to take so back it went for the Shuttle.

<Bill Clinton> "I feel your pain" on the 3800+, the lack of variety in skt939 boards is a real bummer :(
