I still think it's very strange that sports bra is considered indecent exposure while two piece bikinis are not... never made sense to me. If I could go around with a sports bra and some shorts on, I would probably do that during the summer.

Since when is that, I see women running in sports bras all that time?

It's funny that feminists whine about male oppression and demand that they can go topless, and all the while men are their #1 supporters.

Sadly, once they go out and demonstrate their freedom, the women you'll see topless will look a lot more like that fat guy in the link than than the attractive girl.

Its all in the mind of the beholder.

Obviously pinned up ideals that don't face reality isn't a good reason to make women wear shirts - sexist in itself :)

Who cares about that? NOBODY wants to see ugly people, men and women alike will agree. There doesn't need to be a law that states this, every onlooker will decide for themself. You can't escape reality.

So, what do you do when you go out in public? Do you put a bag over your head? :p

I for one support that choice for women, however, the same is said about naturists. Nudists stop seeing the body as a sexual device because they see it all of time time. It no longer holds this "special" thought or idea and in turn, men don't get arroused by seeing nude women walking around.

Now I am not saying that we should be "puritanical" about it, but when you see something long enough, it loses its mystique.
So, if women were eventually comfortable enough to go out in public after a while it would not be a big deal anymore... which could be good or bad.

Even with clothes on men AND women stare at me, and I accept I did that to myself, but until I know people would not just be staring at my naked chest, I think I will keep the toplessness to my own home.

I somewhat disagree with Jaqie... I don't want a bra to be comfortable or for support and don't care about the idea of being cold or too hot. At least when it is cold, even saggy looking breasts look better "cooler". All that matters is that there are no restrictions making it uncomfortable.

So, I hope some of you see some women "celebrating" but I highly doubt that will happen. Too bad too. No bra, no shirt, no anything = 100% comfortable

My wife goes braless most of the time when we're at home. I love it! ;)

I'm fine with women going topless in public.

Where do you live? It's perfectly acceptable around here.

NSFW btw....

That's the point. It should be safe for work!!!!

legality and safe for work are two different things Sparky.

Chances are the only topless chicks you will probably see on this day are the ones you won't want to see topless.

I am sure there will be some promotions with higher-end breast on display though.

No, I gave up on that long ago. I kept passing out, and hippies would steal the bag to recycle the plastic.

More to the point where did I used to live. I'm in NC now, but I used to live in the tri-state area (kansas, missouri, illinois) and in the rural areas let's just say people doing that got the "no shirt no shoes no business" thing thrown in their face, and ive even seen someone thrown out of a fast food place for it, so basically I would (and have been) much rather be on the safe side, even though things are likely different out on the east coast where I live now.

That is phail argument.

But with b00bs flashing all over the place, I guess it isn't to most people.

I think the website is referring to state constitutions, as opposed to the united states constitution. The lovely lady in charge of the site told be that the 1936 constitutional change was for the state of NY ... indeed one hot summer, thousands of men decided to "gotopless" on the beaches of Long Island (remember how men's bathing suit used to cover the whole torso and chest). The NY constitution was modified soon after. Today, the state of NY is the only one that has changed its constitution to allow women to be topless in public.

However, I haven't verified that all of that is true yet :)

Gender discrimination is illegal. That means you can't ban women from being topless, but allow men to be topless.

People should be free to be naked anywhere, seriously. I know some people in this thread suggested that if we change things, that certain body parts would lose their sexual appeal. I don't agree with.

People wouldn't go around naked all the time everywhere. However, when the mode strikes we should be free to do so. Seems like a violation of human rights to tell people that they can't.

How many watch porn everyday? Has it lost its appeal? In fact, if it does start to lose its appeal, then that probably means something is physiologically wrong with you. You should see your PCP immediately :)
