i work 2 jobs right now, and when all is said and done i save about 30k a year.
so my options are, keep on working and save 60k in 2 years, or more if i want to keep doing this, or go to college. 60k would be a nice down payment on a house and i could always use my 401k also ~12k by then. making my house payments easily affordable for anyone or should i go to college, i already have my associates in general education.

i hate school, plain and simple.
work or school?

some people do very well w/o going to college. however that does not appear to be the norm.

if you forgo college and some reason lose your job, will you easily be able to find another job that pays equally well or better?

sounds like you're doing well. Keep at it, you can always go to school later.

You didn't actually provide any evidence on why you should go to college.

Do whatever makes you happy duh (as long as you don't make anyone else sad). If you enjoy working and are doing well then continue.

Well... are you happy with your two jobs and $30K a year? I mean, if it's cool with you, why bother going to college?

It's an interesting perception in this country that everyone needs to go to college. The fact is, they don't and it'd be better if we'd do it like the Europeans or Asians where high school becomes trade school or no school if that's what people are in to.

Can I ask what you do? This advancement that you speak of, does it get you into the $50K range (working one job) in the next ten years or so?

im a supervisor at a conference center for 9 years now,
and i do tech support for a web hosting company, 6 months.

i could easily advance at both jobs, id rather advance within the hosting company, and yes im sure i could make 50k, a guy that has worked her 3 years just got a 6k wage increase for just working here that long. and believe it or not, i actually like my tech support job and the company is awesome...

id go into EE if i went to college

Fvck work. Go to college, stay on campus and have fun. It will be the best 4 years of your life, you can always work later. Unless you are planning on going to college and living at home and being a hermit. In that case, just keep working.

working 2 jobs to make 30k/yr or going to college for 4 years --- having a LOT of fun in the process (talking new friends weekends college parties college babes etc) and then making 30k or more working ONE job with better benefits/vacation time/job security.
I'd say just man up -- study hard for 4 years (working 2 jobs id think u would study LESS than you do WORK now...) and have a great experience also

52K between two jobs is not enough. I would say, go to college. Get a meaningful degree, and make 60k in one job.

unless you cannot get any scholarships, for which college will then cost about 80k-160k$

52k for 2 jobs, how much do you work a week? 52k a job is good at 24 but 52k for 2 jobs is not nearly as good unless you are of course in the end working maybe 50 hours total a week.

don't think short term, think long term.

Nobobody will be able to disprove the return on your investment in yourself by going to school. You WILL hit a ceiling. sure the short term gains look good by not going, but long term study after study after study prove you'll make more money in the long haul with your degree.
