Nintendo always had the best games.

Sony games just were never that much fun.

And for X-box....well I plan on getting a real nice system this fall, so it makes more sense for me to get the Gamecube...especially since it will be much cheaper.

The best reason to get a PS2 or Xbox is because they're progressive scan DVD players... most progressive scan players are more than $500. For me, the games would only be an afterthought.

Don't know about the X-box for sure, but I thought a DVD (hardware) player was going to be an option.

But I do know about the PS2...and it's DVD movie playback capability is about equal to the worst DVD players out there and with no remote.

ditto, could have really expected much.

i think my dc will satisfy me more than enough til an xbox or gc, at least more than a ps2 will.

I agree completely... right now the games for PS2 just sucks... I am thinking of buying the DC now too, since it's so cheap... Even though they will only make games for around 1 more yr, there's tons of good games to keep me satisfied... 🙂

Don't know where you got that from, but the PS2 DOES NOT have progressive DVD playback. (and I really doubt that Sony would enable this like the rumor says, since their own progressive DVD players cost much more than a PS2) The DVD on a PS2 is not even as good as on cheap regular stand-alone players, so forget about progressive quality on it.

I really don't know if the XBOX will have it, but it would be a nice feature to have.

Yeah, my dreamcast will keep me company (I got it on Dec 29 for 100...used) till Gamecube comes out. 🙂 Supposedly there will be a version of the GC with a DVD player in it.

By the way, the PS2's DVD capabilities blow goats. 😉

It will. MS confirmed it a few days ago.

In Japan. Matsushita is making a DVD version of it.
