Not sure. I dont think he will be out that long. He didn't look as bad as antropov (after all he did back track and got couple of word out before going back to the dressing room). :D:p

Eh, they can just tighten the bolts in his neck, zap him with some electricity and he'll be good as new.

HAHA Frakenstein. That'd be a good nick name for him.

Update on Tucker - His injury is a bit more serious then I thought. (Pat Quinn on radio now).

Mogilny's hat trick fells Flyers

Sports Network
4/9/2003

Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Mikael Renberg's power-play goal with 5:39 left in the third period lifted the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 5-3 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals.

Alexander Mogilny recorded a hat trick for Toronto, including an empty-net goal to seal the victory in the final minute.

The Maple Leafs will try to take a 2-0 series lead when Game 2 is played Friday at the First Union Center. Tie Domi also notched a goal, while Ed Belfour made 28 saves.

Eric Weinrich, Donald Brashear and Eric Desjardins scored for the Flyers, who have been knocked out in the opening round of the playoffs in four of the last five years. Roman Cechmanek stopped just 10 shots for Philadelphia.

The three goals were more than Philadelphia scored in its entire playoff series against Ottawa last season. The Flyers managed just two goals as they fell in five games to the Senators in last year's quarterfinal round.

First, a WOOT! WOOT! for our win. :D Now, some game notes.

- We were outshot 28 to 10 today. This cannot continue, but fantastic work by The Eagle. I was never a big Cujo fan.
- Blargh! Hope it's not as bad as it seems for Antropov. Tucker, while I love his spirit, has been such a nonentity for the last year that I'm neutral about him either way. But Antropov is critical.
- Tie Domi *always* shines in the playoffs. Like Cherry said last year, this probably stems from his playing with our top-notch talent and Tie being freed up from the typical enforcer duties he has to perform in the regular season. Go Tie!

We stole that one tonight, without a doubt. Bad news to lose Antropov, especially against a team like the flyers where size is important. Oh well, could have been worse.

Flyers Home Ice advantage = gone

Anyone suprised by the Isle's victory? Not me. Given, I expected them to win at home and not away, but it doesnt suprise me at all. The Isles play exactly the sort of playoff hockey the Sens can't handle.

Gooooooooooooooaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllll !!!

Is it just me, or did Mogilny seem to float when he was out there... I think he played with more determination then I've seen all season... :D

We had 15 actually. But I'm not worried about that as much as our 2nd period performance. Becuause we have this strange love affair with being out shot and still winning games. :Q We dont do as well when we outshot the opposition. :)

Also, Tie Rule!!! One of fav. Leafs. :)

Same here. Remember how the Isles played against us last season, it was a very tough 7 game series. Ottawa is going to go through the same deal here IMO.

BTW, I dont like Yashin, but it makes me happy that he got a goal, and stuck it to the Sens fans. :D

Not gonna be following the thread too closely this year.
I've migrated over to a hockey forum for Leafs discussion... and work has been taking up too much time.

My original prediction was Leafs in 7 in a tight physical series....
But I'm not so sure any more. :(

We're cursed. Missing Wesley and Gilmour was bad, but we could do without them for a short time.... plus Wesley will be back for game 3, Gilmour looks to be ready for the second round.
Now Tucker may be injured as well.... losing him would hurt but we could manage.
Antropov though?
He's our #2 Center, and now he's out with a broken ankle.
Sundin was out 2 weeks when he broke his ankle, and Antropov is younger so he may recover quicker.
However even if he does come back quick he certainly won't be 100% for awhile.

I don't think Toronto will be able to pull it off anymore :(

Why oh why must we be cursed with injuries?!
Last year we were practically the St Johns Leafs in the playoff we had so many damn injuries... it seems like we're back to that trend.
