http://wakeup-world.com/2011/06/24/tree-hugging-proven-to-improve-health-issues/

Tree hugging, that much maligned hippy generation idea, has now been shown to have validity after all. Contrary to popular belief, touching a tree does make you healthier. In fact you don’t even have to touch the tree to get better, just being within its vicinity has the same effect.

In a recently published book, Blinded By Science, the author Matthew Silverstone, proves that trees improve many health issues such as; mental illnesses, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), concentration levels, reaction times, depression and the ability to alleviate headaches.

Countless studies have shown that children show significant psychological and physiological effects in terms of their health and well being when they interact with plants. They demonstrate that children function better cognitively and emotionally in green environments and have more creative play in green areas.

A large public health report that investigated the association between green spaces and mental health concluded that “access to nature can significantly contribute to our mental capital and wellbeing”.

So what is it about nature that can have these significant effects? Up until now it has been thought to be the open green spaces that cause this effect. However, Matthew Silverstone, shows that it is nothing to do with this by proving that it is the vibrational properties of trees and plants that give us the health benefits and not the open green spaces.

Blinded By Science answers how plants and trees affect us physiologically and it turns out to be very simple. It is all to do with the fact that everything vibrates, and different vibrations affect biological behaviours. It has been proven that if you drink a glass of water that has been treated with a 10Hz vibration your blood coagulation rates will change immediately on ingesting the treated water. It is the same with trees, when touching a tree its different vibrational pattern will affect various biological behaviours within your body.

This vibrational idea is backed up throughout the book by hundreds of scientific studies to provide overwhelming proof that tree hugging after all is not such a crazy idea. Not only is it good for our health but it can also save the Government a lot of money by offering an alternative form of treatment that is free.

One report concluded with the following: “safe, green spaces may be as effective as prescription drugs in treating some forms of mental illnesses”.

Wouldn’t it be nice to hear from now on that doctors treat some forms of illnesses by suggesting a walk in the park rather than taking a packet full of pills.

Say what you will, but that last sentence is spot on. Exercise is one of the best medicines there is.

Must be one heck of a duck to have a quack whose fundamental frequency is ten cycles per second. ;)

However, the statement is correct.

Show me the proof that vibrating a glass of water makes a difference. It's quackery, nothing more.

That's not what I wrote nor what the quoted statement actually says. Whether one vibrates the glass or not, the ingestion of water will alter the coagulation rate of blood.

The statement is the logical equivalent of saying "If a person's name begins with the letter J, that person is either male or female." The first clause has no impact on the second.

So what now, we're incorporating molecular motion with homeopathy?
So if I make water flow from east to west and then pour it into the Niagara River, can I make Niagara Falls flow backwards?

And changing the coagulation rate of blood isn't necessarily a good thing.

Which do you prefer, a stroke or uncontrolled internal bleeding?

That's a fun site.

DNA can be reprogrammed with words.
Changing socks can give you energy.
ESP is real and common.
Ordinary water can self-assemble into DNA.
Chemtrail paranoia.
Static electricity can transform DNA of a species into one of its extinct ancestors.
Ancient Mayan conspiracies and prophecies.
And of course, what crazy site would be complete without a free energy machine?

Go hug a tree!

Ok, already did. My daughter and I on a camping trip a few years ago, she was laughing because I was hugging a tree.

I think thats the point they were trying to make, that its not a good thing.

1) The article is about beneficial effects of vibrations of trees...
2) ...which then states that water that's been given a low-frequency buzz will screw with your platelets in some way...
3) ...the same with trees...
4) ...which the article says have healing properties because of these vibrations.

Context?

Goddammit, Philosoraptor, that's not what I meant by a "second opinion."

And what happens then if I, an animal comprised mostly of water, were exposed to 10Hz vibration?
Philosoraptor, what are my options?
