I thought it was very well done TBH.

Although I'd have been much happier had Jason David Frank reprise his role as Tommy.

I thought the film was done by an amateur but turns out the director has done Judge Dredd and I hated that movie. The concept of the power rangers reboot was great but I still get the horrible feeling that if the movie was two hours long, it would have been crappy like Judge Dredd. Director makes great shorts but boring long movies.

Power Rangers were good when I was in kindergarten, but no amount of nostalgia is going to get me to watch a movie about them today.

I watched the show premier when I was 12 years old in 1993. The target demographic, I guess. Back then, I watched a lot of TV shows that were meant for much much younger children. I still couldn't understand how anyone would enjoy and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers. I found its success to be both confusing and incredibly irritating.

I was absolutely nuts for Animaniacs (premiered the same season).

Acting was horrible? It was fine by what we get these days. Hell it had Dawson and that chick from BSG in it.

I hated Power Rangers, but I would give something like this a shot as a full movie, even though this is never what that was intended to be.

that was dumb.

would've been fine if it was it's own story/world and not darkifying/edgyfying a kids show.

Not quite accurate. Judge Dredd is the original 1995 movie. The guy you're thinking of produced Dredd...this was the director.

From what I can tell, this was Joseph Kahn's logic in making the fan film. He intentionally went over the top to make that point...since it's getting an official reboot movie in 2016 but all reboots seem to be getting that kind of treatment lately.

Even as someone that used to watch Power Rangers, I didn't care for it. Although, the point of it was to mock the "gritty reboot culture" of Hollywood, and it certainly did that. Especially when you take something dark and mix in something as childish and dumb as Rita Repulsa.
