go for upgrade?

Well, the Voodoo5 seems to outperform the GeForce2 MX in higher resolutions (1024x768 and up). If low-res gaming (800x600 and under) is your thing then go with the GeForce2 MX.

But, the GeForce2 MX has hardware T@L, so that's a bonus. It's better for 1-st person shooters.

But, the Voodoo5 has the best FSAA in the business! If you like playing racing sims or flight simulators than the FSAA will really benefit you.

well is t & l so important ?Althought v5 5500 couldnt compare with gts. But the price is attractive...just 200 cdn can get one. So i was wondering....beside waitting for the price of gts to drop...is it a good idea to go for 200 cdn v5 5500 for the time being ?

No, it's not really worth it. T&L is now starting to kick in and the MX is getting better and better everyday. It would be a rather short-lived upgrade.

A Voodoo5 wipes the floor with the MX in almost every circumstance. MDK2 seems to be the ONLY exception. Apparently the latest drivers place it well up there with the GTS. Not bad at all. 😉

With the OEM version you get the white box with the card and driver CD and that's it. It's usually cheaper.

With the Retail version you get the box and whatever software (games etc.) it comes with. It costs more, too.
