Even as i wait for my new laptop to return to me from repairs "video card", i was approached by a friend who apparently liked the little ah heck "m1330" and wishes to trade a pimped up ALIENWARE M5790 SE "Yes the special edition, if it was a m5550 i would have so said no"

All is good in terms of the config. except the dam GPU "Go 7700" which in my book is quite out there. I never heard of the Go 7700 it seems that this originally came with a 7600 but it burned out and was replaced with a Go 7700.

Can anyone tell me how would a Go 7700 "I gather based on 7600 GT so equal" would go against a 8400 GS OCed "I read that 8400 GS's are really good overclocker and in which case it would be on par with a 8600 GT!!!

Games that i would like to play to kill time are:-

Devil May Cry 4
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
BioShock
Team Fortress 2
UT3
TrackMania United
NFS MS
NFS Carbon

So among these relatively new games which card "7700 or 8400 GS OC" would top out???

my 8400m gs oc's great.

core / shader / mem

stock:
400 / 800 / 500

stable oc:
597 / 1185 / 790

i'd say a 8400gs is better than the go 7 series

There's no way an 8400GS, even overclocked, will perform anywhere near an 8600GT. The 7700 is going to be faster.
