I turned my computer on this morning, got this gnpu cecksum error, went into the bios and reset cpu frequency to 133 and everything is fine except that the bios is set back to it's defualt settings and the date is set back to it's beginning date. Now I believe I know what the problem is (BAD BATTERY) but wanted to confirm it here simply because I have not seen this error before. I have been using this board since last august. Thanks for any help!

What you are seeing, and already guessed, is most likely the result of a bad CMOS battery. It is not an uncommon thing for this to come up with that board. They seem to have had several runs of bad battery batches. Just slip on down to a local store and get a new one and all should be well. You might want to write down your settings in the BIOS as you will lose them again when switching batteries.

Yeah at least your's lasted this long, it only took mine 2 months to die. I put in a Sony and it ran perfect till I sold it.

Thanks for your replies, I wanted to get that confirmed. As for the cmos settings, writing them down is definitely a good idea. Thanks again for your help!
