Gnome's Archive Manager can't handle password-protected rar files?

It seems that way to me. It threw an error when extracting the file saying "prefix found" and that's it. Extracting using WinRAR works fine. Is there an all-round decent alternative (with a GUI) that people prefer to use?

Make sure you have the non free rar package installed. That may make a difference, but I believe all the *buntus ship it by default. You could try xarchiver. I've had good luck with that. Between those couple programs, and sometimes cli, I've always been able to open stuff. I avoid rar as much as possible, and I'll never create one.
