Gnex: broken screen help

My father broke the screen on his Galaxy Nexus(ATT). He hasn't synced(and apparently sync isn't working automatically) his phone to google in a long time(if he ever did or even knows how).

My situation. There are a few phone numbers he needs that are in the contact list but never synced to save them.

Is there some other way to get info on this phone without having a working screen? IE plugging it up with it powered on and running some utility or program?

Or is he just SOL?

Sync is not something you do manually.

Unless he disabled it himself (pointless and why?), those contacts should be synced. Did you verify the contacts existed (or not) in Gmail?

Change the screen? I've changed a few screens, and it isn't really hard to do on most phones, it just takes a while because I'm really paranoid and scared of tearing something up worse.

As was said, unless he turned sync off, it is done automatically. The only thing you need to use the phone to save would be photos you have stored on the phone.

It's not on the synced contacts via gmail, that was the first thing I checked.

I think it's safe to say sync was off or not working right. I'm not really trying to replace the screen because he has a new phone already. I'm just trying to access the phones contact list(it's not on the sim or synced, just on the phone itself) without replacing the screen.

ive found sync does not always work as it should. When my mom got her first smart phone (moto X) we put all the numbers in manually and they never synced to google. i had to export them to a CSV file and manually upload it into gmail on the computer
