AMD has been accumulating some 5600X3Ds, Which are likely failed 5800X3Ds.

You'd imagine so. There must be a mechanism that causes the failure of a couple cores while they're assembling it. Maybe parametric with a hot spot issue meaning a core can't reach frequency without overheating?I thought AMD only stacked cache after testing for known good chips? Is that incorrect?
I think it will drift to $199 after a while, with some discounts and bundles.Very interesting product. Between 6C with V-cache at $229 or the 5700X at $179, it's probably priced at the upper end of appropriate.
I'd rather have the sub $200 5700x
From the TH article:Edit: Oh, its only Microcenter...maybe if they offer one of their good combo deals I could see it being worth it for some.
That's pretty decent for the best budget smooth gaming experience. Period.Micro Center will also sell a $329 bundle with the six-core 12-thread Ryzen 5 56003XD, an ASUS B550-Plus TUF motherboard, and 16GB of G.Skill Ripjaws V DDR4 memory.
It doesn't mean anything. They had long tail customers regardless of AM5.AM4 supported till 2028?
Is AMD indirectly admitting that AM5 failed to meet their sales expectations?
They should go ahead and just release Zen3+ in AM4 with a DDR4 memory controller for base DDR4-4000 support.
Hmm...this could be a very limited edition SKU.AMD and Micro Center haven’t confirmed the number of processors that will be available, but Micro Center expects to have stock for a few months.
Well... There's this: https://www.techpowerup.com/299936/...-zen-4-production-as-demand-drops-like-a-rockAM4 supported till 2028?

Dang, $329 for $229 + $169 + $69 = $467 worth of stuff if bought separately. Since MC gives a $20 discount for bundling mobo + CPU anyways, that's still a net savings of ~$220.From the TH article:

Competitive E-sports gamers gonna lap this up really quick!

only if they have enough defects. this new chip is a small amount for a one time release because of how good yields are on 7nm. dunno the details on the 5nm tsmc node yield rate and probably would have a hard time reading a chart in my current conditioning this young eveningSomething like this, wich tell us that we should expect a 7600X3D in a 12-24 months time frame...
Remember, only China products do get out after a bit of time tooOnly at MC.
My disappointment is immeasurable, and my day is ruined.
Not worth it for resellers when 290 dollar 5800x3d exists. And microcenter won't be selling them off to anyone else in bulk, since its their exclusive and it drives sales of other parts.Remember, only China products do get out after a bit of time too![]()
