I got a license when I was at a non-profit radio station.
You had to fill out a 3x5 size application.
There may have been a page of info you could read/keep if you wanted to.
Or maybe the only info was on the reverse of the 3x5 card.
That was years ago. I don't know if the procedure's changed.
It was a life-time license. I don't think it cost anything. If it did, I'm sure it was waaaay less than $5.

I think CD-radio opperators are supposed to get licenses as well.
It's no biggie.

HAM radio opperators, I think, get a different type of license.

I bought a set of similar radios. I don't think the documentation mentioned anything about getting a license. You would think that it would be mandatory for them to include such a notice if sold in the U.S.. I'd bet that most of the people who buy these don't have licenses.

It's really no biggie.
