Anyone driven a Typhoon before? How does the ride and handling compare to modern cars. Also what is good price for one?
 
Well, when you compare it to modern cars, remember that they're about 15 years old. But with 280HP, AWD, and about 3800Lbs it'll be a hoot. Not quite Evo territory, but you'll be close to 14 flat in the 1/4. Private party blue book for a 100k mile one is about $13k

I never owned one,my buddy did for a couple years but it was a new part every week,just a s-10 blazer with some juice,drove it a few times but never really did much for me.

I have alot more fun in my bonneville SSE....😀
 
They can be made insanely fast though and they are loads of fun to drive. I personally want one but the prices usually keep me away. That being said though, unless it's THE car you want, your money can be better spent elsewhere.
 
Syclone and Typhoon were big in their days.

An Omni GLHS is another old quick car.

The thing is with anything, stuff gets better with time. However, having a vehicle you don't see everyday/week/month/year goes a long way for many people.

Almost any vehicle can be made to outperform current ones esp when price is no object.
 
The Typhoon is really too old to be reliable. I'd go with the GTO given a choice between the two as a daily driver. The only thing with the GTO is that some of the parts may have to be ordered from Australia if something unusual breaks. They're awesome otherwise though. I had one pass me on the interstate, and I decided to see how fast he was going. I got up to about 100 and he was still pulling away pretty fast. I didn't care to go that fast to find out, and I know he'd beat my old Mustang so I backed off. Those cars have some serious power. It's on my list of cars to look at, when I buy my next car.
 
Yeah I like the GTO's, but I was looking for something alittle cheaper. The reason for the backseat is I need to be able to install a car seat. It will not be our primary car for that since we have an Envoy XUV for that. It would just be nice to have the ability to do it if needed.
