GMC Sierra 1500

Well I'm in the market for a new truck, and for now the Sierra is at the top of my list. I used to have one and loved it, but I've never driven any other truck to compare except for a Silverado.

This will be my first actual car purchase (all of my other vehicles were paid for by mommy and daddy 😀), and I want a single cab truck. I won't be doing any heavy duty hauling or towing, I just want a truck that I can haul stuff around in when I want to (plus a single cab sportside body Sierra looks badass). What are your opinions on it? Should I go Chevy instead (or is there any difference at all)? I think the Dodge's look like ass so I don't want one of them, but should I look into Fords?

I just bought a silverado crew back in Nov. A beaut. There really is no difference between the two. Buy one made in Canada. The Oshawa plant is GM's best. Don't get a Mexican built one. The final assembly point is printed on the sticker.

GMC = Chevy with a cloth seat 😛 It pretty much comes down to what grille/headlight version you prefer.

The only reason I was leaning towards the GMC over the Chevy was that I liked the Sierra's curvy front rather than the Silverado's more angular one. Doesn't matter too much though, as I'm sure I will be getting whatever I can get the best deal on.

The Chevy is ugly to me. And I love Chevys.

I'm ordering a new GMC Crew cab truck here pretty soon, and the reason I'm getting that instead of the Silverado is the grille.

get chevy instead of GMC if your interested in saving money. very few minor differences.

Both trucks start at 19,040.00. Not much difference unless you get a really decked-out truck, and then it's not that much.
Especially when the GMC's front end is so much better-looking. 😉

I like the Toyota trucks personally. Tundra or the new Tacoma. You could get a good deal on a Tundra Access Cab model probably for the low 20s.

I voted yay too, but I prefer the front end of the Chev better than the GM. Just preference though. Go for the one you get the better deal on.

Also, get a 5.3. Stay away from the 4.8.

When's GM due for a full redesign of the Sierra/Silverado? They've done some touchups and facelifts, but no real changes since what...2000?

I've never really been a fan of buying a *new* car that was on the end of it's product lifespan unless I could get it at a greatly discounted rate.

But that's just me.

Overall I'm more of a fan of the new F150's and the Titan. And this is from a guy sitting on over $3,000 in GM points from my GM card.
