Gmail users!

I used to have my Gmail account forward all mail to another mail account.
I began to use Gmail's POP feature today to download them directly, but I started to receive every mail twice (once from the Forwarding and another one from the POP download).

So, I went to Gmails options and try to disable Forwarding, but I can't!!!!. I click on Save Changes but nothing happens, when I return to the options page, Forwarding is enabled.

Same here. I had the option enabled (an experiment to see how it would work), and have been trying to turn it off for at least the past two weeks. But the "disable" does not take effect, for whatever reason, no matter how many times I set it that way in my preferences, and forwarded mail keeps coming to an account where I don't want it.

I finally sent a query to Gmail's help team about it this morning. They replied pretty quickly, had me answer some questions, and requested I send them a more detailed report with screenshots. I did. So now we'll see what happens.

It's a serious glitch on Gmail's part. I can't imagine that people have not complained about it before, which makes me wonder if it might not be something recent--an unexpected side effect of some recent modification they made.

Whatever, I hope they fix this bug soon. I don't want to have to dump my Gmail account because of it.

Well, Gmail tech support finally answered me:

Well, it seems that they've fixed the problem. Forwarding is now disabled.

Yup. Same here. I just now checked my Gmail a/c and disabled my forwarding again......and the new preferences held. I am now a happy Gmail camper again.
