Gmail that stupid?

I seldom pay attention to the Spam folder in Google. Its now somewhat out of view and thus when I looked last week it contained +500 pieces of Spam in it. But what I find even sillier is the fact that 77% of the Spam was from the same culprit and instead of removing it from the system, and hence all user mailboxes, Google simply stores it in the Spam folder.

So, I went and clean out the Spam folder and in 24-hours 22 pieces of new Spam entered that folder. Of this, 77% was from DailyCandy. Maybe I am being targeted and not part of some broad spectrum of mailboxes, but if it is already identified as Spam by Google then why store it? Especially if it is in these numbers?

Me thinks Google is in bed with DailyCandy.

Spam's in the eye of the beholder. Somewhere, somebody is excited to get DailyCandy email. What if Google preemptively deleted their daily happiness?

Great idea until they accidentally mark legit emails as SPAM but instead of putting them in the spam label, they just delete them permanently.

I am sure that will go over well.

Gmail keeps the shit out of my inbox, that is all that matters to me,if it bothers you that much there is a cool and new option...it is called a filter, make one for that mega spammer of yours....😀

Just looked at my 1K Spam folder.

Nothing from that "spammer"

Apparently you are the special one :hmm:

I get a lot of spam for disability benefits and social security programs. Apparently I have lived a long, hard 30 years. I also have a disability I didn't know about.

Here's mine, but I clean it periodically.

My spam folder only had 2 messages in it because...wait for it...I check it and clean it out on a regular occurrence.

Me thinks you're the moron in this scenario.

If it really bothers you, you can create a filter and have it delete it automatically. Or you can rest in the knowledge that it will delete spam stuff automatically in 30 days.

Something here is stupid, but I don't think it's gmail. :hmm:

*subtly agrees*

Why even bother cleaning out your gmail spam folder.. much less care whats in it? Its not like it counts towards your 7.5gig+ limit.... Must be OCD.

I've got 29 spam messages in my Spam folder.. I never touch it.. it just keeps deleting messages older than 30days so I'm happy. I actually got a spam last week.. first one gmail missed in about 6mo.

You could have erectile dysfunction... I think I do... I keep getting viagra spam.
