Gmail question.

So I have one of my Gmail accounts forward everything to a POP address so I can copy of everything locally. Well I formatted and I forgot to back up my Thunderbird stuff so I lost everything that had been downloaded already. 🙁

Is there a way to get Gmail to reforward everything that it has already, without manually doing it? I want all the email to be forwarded as showing it from the original sender, not forwards from whatever@gmail.com.

POP Download:
1. Status: POP is disabled
-Enable POP for all mail
-Enable POP only for mail that arrives from now on

Does the first option do it?

So did you directly download it to Thunderbird via POP3 from Gmail, or to another account from Gmail then to Thunderbird? It depends, really. Did you have the Gmail option set up where it keeps the messages on the server?

I was forwarding them to a different address and downloading them via pop on that address. They're all still on the gmail server. Tu13erhead gave me an idea though. I downloaded them all via the Gmail pop download then moved the messages over to the other account inbox. Thanks!

I was going to suggest the fix you used, glad it worked. You could forward to your Gmail account to avoid this problem -- one POP download if TB is lost again (the idea being that Gmail should have enough space to keep all your mail forever). Anyhow, that's what I do now, more or less.
