gmail on opera internet browser

I just installed opera internet browser and it looks interesting. Problem is I can't log in into my gmail account using opera because of no active X. Is there a way around this? or do I have to wait until Google makes opera compatible with gmail?

Oh, apparently GMail detects Opera as IE though. Then it tries to use ActiveX because it's IE, but that isn't in Opera.

you have opera set up the wrong way then, go into options and have it set to identify itself as opera.

Then, I just get a blank page saying Javascript needs to be enabled (which it is).
Googling a little, it seems like it isn't just the OP having problems with Gmail and Opera7. I don't use Opera, except downloading it right now to check 😉

If you are looking for an alternative to IE. Try Firefox instead.

Tried it once already but it's too slow. It reminds me of Netscape browser.

Uhhhh you did try Firefox and not Mozilla right? Firefox is superfast for me.

Mozilla Firefox.

I installed firefox again. When I double click on "view inbox" on gmail notifier, it just brings up gmail log-in screen instead of inbox screen. What's up with that? At least internet explorer didn't have similar problem.
