gmail notifier and firefox

everytime i check my mail thru the notifier, it brings me to the log-on page, instead of directly to my inbox as it did in IE. is there any fix for that? thanks

I am not really sure. I switched from IE to Firefox after I got gmail notifier, and everything works perfectly for me. Gmail notifier takes me right to my inbox through Firefox.

Maybe try reinstalling both?

Sorry I couldn't have been much help, but at least I'm giving you a bump.

It may be because you're not saving the cookie when you close firefox. If you don't want to save all your cookies, try downloading the CookieCuller Extension. Note, you may need to do a config hack to get it to work if you are using FF version 1.0. If you get an error when trying to install the extension that says it's not compatible with this version of firefox, do the following:

1. Open a new FireFox window, and type about:config in the address bar.
2. Locate the line that says "app.extensions.version" and double click it. When the popup box comes up, change the value to 0.9, hit ok.
3. Close all FireFox browser windows.
4. Try reinstalling the CookieCuller Extension.

Once you have the CookieCuller Extension installed, do the following:

1. Log into gmail (from the webpage or gmail notifier).
2. Click Tools -> CookieCuller
3. Click the "Site" column to sort your cookies by domain.
4. Locatate and protect the following cookies:
Site: google.com
Cookie Name: SID

Site: gmail.google.com
Cookie Name: GV

5. You'll probably want to protect your AT user information too, if you have AT remember your username and password. The cookies that store this information are:

Site: anandtech.com
Cookie Name: FuseTalkLatestPosts1Net

Site: anandtech.com
Cookie Name: FuseTalkClusterUserNet

6. Click the Protected Column to sort by protection status.
7. Select all the unprotected cookies by clicking the first on, holding shift, then clicking the last one
8. Click on Remove Cookie. (NOT REMOVE ALL COOKIES) Then click "OK".
9. Close all FireFox windows
10. Exit Gmail Notifier.
11. Open GMail Notifier, and sign in.
12. Double clicke the GMail notifier Icon, and it should take you directly to your inbox.

Thanks, I will try that when i get home. I think i am saving the cookies tho, because AT forums remember my info just fine. I will make sure when i get home.
