Gmail is Slow

Recently I've noticed Gmail has been incredibly slow to send messages, display messages, and return search results. Friends of mine have reported the same thing.

I only have 6% of my inbox full, yet it takes gmail 5+ seconds to respond to sends, searches, etc.


After some Googling, other people seem to be having scattered problems with the same thing.

What about you guys? Has Gmail become slow as a dog for you?

yea same issue here. I started noticing it a few months ago. Gmail was incredibly slow - it would take something like 10 -15 seconds to open up an email, when sending an email, it would get stuck on "sending" or "loading" or "still working" messages. I tried searching around for a way to contact the gmail help team, but my search was futile. The problem went away on its own after a while, but my gmail is slow again

It's pretty slow for me too. but I kind of blame it on the fact that my inbox is 20% full.

It just seems weird that a company which keeps an active database of almost every page on the internet that can be queried in less than a second cannot keep Gmail running quickly.

I wonder if they aren't making any money from it and have thus given it second fiddle?
