Hey guys,
I'm trying to set up an investment group email, in which all the emails go to one email address and then all incoming mail is forwarded out to the 4 group members. but gmail seems to only allow one email address to be in the forwarding space. How can I have multiple forwards?

thanks

This is not an operating systems question.

You can put as many addresses as you want in the Email when you do either a Compose or Forward
Just seperate them with a comma ... if the addresses are in your Gmail Address Book, just type the
first or first two letters of the name ... it will display a list ... pick the correct one, then repeat

a) Read the post (he wants to forward INCOMING mail to multiple addresses)
b) Dont respond in the OS forum to non-os questions, this clearly belongs elsewhere

I did read it .... and you can Forward an Incoming Email in Gmail just as I said .. . I checked it
by trying it with an email that was in my Inbox ... as to it being in the wrong forum, that is
up to a mod to either close it or move it to where it should be

I don't know how you are testing it, but My Gmail will ALLOW MULTIPLE Addresses when you
click on th Forward Link .... gmail limtis you to a max of 500 addresses in the Send Field

Help Center Home > Composing & Sending

Are there limits for sending mail?
Gmail has a number of sending limits in place to prevent abuse of our system, and to help fight spam. If you reach one of Gmail's limits, you'll be temporarily unable to send mail. Common causes include:

1. Sending a message to more than 500 recipients. You can send a single message to a maximum of 500 recipients. Their email addresses can be distributed among the 'To:,' 'Cc:,' and 'Bcc:' fields.
* If you communicate with the same group of people on a regular basis, you might be interested in Google Groups.
2. Sending a large number of undeliverable messages.
* We suggest verifying your contacts' email addresses. Make sure the email addresses you're sending mail to are valid. It's also important that everyone you are sending mail to is willing to receive it. Learn more about best practices for sending a large amount of mail through Gmail.

You would have to make a Group

----------------------------------------

How do I create a Contact Group?
Gmail lets you organize your contacts into Groups so you can easily send messages to a number of people at once. Here's how to create Contact Groups:

1. Log in to your Gmail account.
2. Click Contacts along the left side of any Gmail page.
3. Open the Groups tab, and click Create Group.
4. Enter your contact group's name in the Group name: field.
5. Type the contacts you'd like to include in the Group in the Add contacts: field. (Gmail's auto-complete feature will suggest addresses from your Contacts list as you type.)
6. Click Create Group.

If you'd like to choose contacts from a list when creating Contact Groups, you can do so from the Frequently Mailed and All Contacts tabs. Here's how:

1. Click Contacts along the left side of any Gmail page.
2. Open the Frequently Mailed or All Contactstab, and check the boxes next to the names of each contact you'd like to include in your new Contact Group.
3. From the Add contact to... drop-down menu, select New group....
4. Enter the name of your new Contact Group in the appropriate field, and click OK.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You will still have to manually enter the Name of the Group to do the forwarding .... Gmail Cannot Auto Forward (but you might be able to in Outlook)

How do I send mail to a Contact Group?
Contact Groups make it easy to send one message to lots of people. Here's how to address a message to a Contact Group once you've created it:

1. Log in to your Gmail account.
2. Click Compose.
3. In the To: field, enter the first few letters of the name of the Contact Group to which you'd like to send the message.
4. Select your Contact Group for the list of addresses Gmail's auto-complete feature suggests.
5. Compose your mail!

You can also compose messages to a Contact Group from within the Groups tab. Here's how:

1. Click Contacts along the left side of any Gmail page.
2. Open the Groups tab, and check the box next to the name of the Group to which you'd like to send a message.
3. Click Compose along the top of the page.
4. Compose your mail!

Ugh. Ok, he is trying to setup gmail to AUTOMATICALLY forward all incoming mail to multiple addresses. Gmail will only allow one address when you configure forwarding, he simply can not do what he's asking. So, how about you stop telling him he can ;)

The easiest way is to simply use the POP access through something like Outlook

Then set the forwarding in Outlook
