Running Google Chrome Version 32.0.1700.55 m Aura on my Windows 8.1 machine.
The last few months, gmail.com runs slow (always says loading, still loading, etc), I open google maps up, that is slow. No other sites are slow, just those.
I started used Google DNS servers, still slow. Any other browser, I have no issues. Is it time to ditch Chrome? Is this a know issue? Any solutions? I've cleared the cache in the browser.

Does it work fine in firefox?

if so you may have to ditch chrome. I've heard there are some bugs in it...

Try visiting the same sites in an incognito window. This will temporarily disable your extensions. If they perform better, you'll have to disable extensions one by one to find your culprit.

I agree with the OP. Everything Google has been slow for me for a long time (Google+, Gmail, Google Groups). The problem, I think, is that Google doesn't know how to create sites that don't have a zillion elements/advertisements/things that track you and it bogs everything down. Maybe the Google servers are very slow in my country also.

There is a similar topic here also:

Google's sites are highly optimized but very heavy on JavaScript and AJAX. Gmail and maps fly for me on Chrome version 32, but I run Chrome without any add-ons.

Have you tried clearing your history, cookies, or cache. Those slow chrome down a lot. Also, if you have a lot of emails in gmail itself that could cause a problem too.
