the way it works is: every file you upload shows up as an email with the file as an attachment. it's kinda ghetto though. for example, if you upload gmailinstaller.exe, you get a mail from me (yourself) with the subject GMAILFS: /GmailInstaller.exe [298280;a;1].

It was kinda irritating to see this pop up in my email as a new mail, so I made a new label called GmailFS and made a filter, which would skip the inbox and put the email in the GmailFS label. Now, any file I copy to the Gmail Drive won't show up in the inbox, which is good coz it's out of my face.

if they make it so you can tie together multiple accounts into one drive your looking at possibly unlimited off-site storage. i wanted to make a program to do that the day Gmail came out but i'm hella lazy.

Bump again. You don't need the proggy to download.. just rename the file you download to whatever it was. eg.. if you uploaded a word file, just rename the bin to *.doc

i set it up in about 10 seconds and it works like a charm

I am using it to upload backup copies of presentations etc ... that way i have a secure offline copy of important docs that i can access even when i am traveling or my hd crashes or my pc gets stolen or...

Holy hell, that's an awesomely useful bit of software. I wonder how long before Google block the use of it?
