I sometimes wonder if it's an accounts-based thing (i.e., certain accounts on certain primary servers) because mine and my wife's goes down all the time too while my coworkers can still access it from the same location.

It's free and we don't use it for our primary email address so it's usually not a big deal, but it's still a bit frustrating at times getting the error on such a regular basis.
 
i don't get the message on what I'd call a regular basis, but maybe 10 times or less in the past year. Nevertheless it is annoying when it happens.
 
It was horrible last night as well, took nearly an hour for a text message to go from one gmail account to another...
