Typhoon. Same engine/drivetrain as the Syclone but in a Jimmy chassis.

Check the '94-96 Impala SS values. It took 8 years and 100,000 miles before they went signifigantly below thier MSRP.

I don't know, but is that how you spell Syclone? I mean I know thats not how you spell the word cyclone, but is that how the vehicle is spelled?

Apparently that is the correct spelling.

Funny, I was just talking about these two cars when I was describing the few things GM did right in the past in the latest "GM will die soon" thread. I'm sure its just a coincidence. :p

Yea, I used to cream all over a Typhoon. I've owned 2 S-10 Blazer's already in my life, and had 4-5 in the family, so I've always loved the design any way. What I wouldn't have given for a Typhoon back then.

Of course then I grew up and found out that puting any small block chevy into the S-10 frame was a VERY simple matter. And a lot cheaper in the long run. But of course you don't have the AWD. That 4.3 is an awesome engine even without work done to it though, one of their best. I'd even go so far as to say it was THE best V6 GM ever designed.

I haven't read the exact specs on the Trailblazer SS, but I didn't think they were doing too much to it. Just dropping the 5.3 liter in it and calling it a day, but maybe I'm wrong. I'd be interested to see what they do with it.

Nice. Very nice. I would have been happy with just the 5.7l and the suspension. And after looking, I see the 5.3 is an option so I don't know why I thought it was just that. So thats 1 more thing along with the C6 and Z06 that GM is doing right. Too bad I can't think of any others.

Although the GTO is really growing on me. Funny that I was commenting a few weeks back on how I had even yet to see one on the street. This is Denver BTW, not just some town. And I finally saw one, and the same day I saw another. Since then I think I've seen 5 now. And its really growing on me, I like all the styling except the typical Pontiac front clip/grill. I wonder how hard it would be to get the Holden clip and throw it on there.

Yeah, torquey is right. My dad was General Manager of a GMC dealership during those years. He brought a Typhoon home one night as a demo and let me drive it. ( I was 15 with a learners permit then). We took it on a back road and he let me lay into it. That damn thing spun all 4 tires for about a second before it hooked up and man, let me tell you! When it hooked up it would just about rip your balls off!

Awsome vehicle! I've always wanted one. Never drove the Syclone though but from what I remember it was even hotter than the Typhoon. Did 0-60 in something like 4.6 as I recall
