Cobalt: The 2006 model year is big for performance at Chevrolet, with the SS badge added to a wide range of high-horsepower vehicles. Cobalt SS coupe and sedan models feature a 171-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine as well as suspension and styling enhancements.

A freshening is planned for the 2008 model year.

GM is exploring an awd Cobalt variant that likely would be aimed at the Mitsubishi Evolution and Subaru WRX.

intriguing to see if they make it, and if it will actually compete.

was the delta platform designed with AWD in mind?

I think the specs on the SS coupe was more like 200hp, unless that is the the "at the wheels" hp rating. That would be sweet if they made that into an AWD car. A fairly affordable AWD car. w00t

Tough to compete against Subaru considering the car was designed around the AWD not the other way around ;)
