Ford's redesigned F150 is the gayest look i've seen in a truck. The curve of the hood really messed it up as well.

The price difference right now is there, i'll admit that, but when you trade/sell your truck you'll probably make that much money back or more!

although i really think they should KILL saturn, pontiac, buick, hummer.

make Chevy, the cars
make GMC, the trucks (hummer goes here)
make Cadillac luxury vehicles.

That lineup would make sense. Especially if they'd stick to it. As it is now

Pontiac is the performance division but Chevrolet makes the Corvette.

GMC is the truck division, but Chevrolet makes most (?) of its money by selling trucks. Then there's Hummer...

Cadillac is the luxury division, but Tiger Woods endorses Buick.

I don't know if this can be said for the new models as they are built on the same platform as the Cobalt and considering I plan to drive this car for another 100k I doubt I'll find out.

Saturn's appeal has been reliability and a car that doesn't rust and dent all over. If they take away the reliability and are planning to no longer make the panels plastic, then that would truely be a stupid move.

Chrysler and Ford have turned themselves around but it seems like GM is flailing about now that they are hemmoraging money.
I personally haven't - but my sister has and you're right about the rust thing at least. Some of the things they did when they designed the car were moronic - the oil filter is directly above an axle boot, so unless you cut a milk jug especially to cover the boot, the oil gets on it and the boot's life is drastically reduced. I used to change her oil for her and when she got the Saturn, I did it twice before I told her I wouldn't do it anymore, it was too much work. I could change the oil and grease any of our other cars in 20 minutes, her's was an hour minimum. Not to mention there was no way to avoid getting completely covered in oil.

Not to mention the parts might as well have been stamped out of gold as expensive as they were.

They are safe cars - she had a van ROLL OVER her car completely and she walked out with a bruised wrist and the normal airbag bruises.

I don't have a problem with the Saturn line, I just don't see the point of it. Their entry level cars are covered by Cobalt and their SUV's/Vans are covered by Chevy.

That's a good question. IMHO the GMC/Chevy trucks LOOK more tough and trucklike too..the Ford just has too many loopy-swoopy lines and curves to be a truck.

It was devised when "Chevy" was a dirty word in the minds of most people as far as reliability was concerned so that GM would have a small car to sell to the people who were snapping up Civics and Carollas as reliable and comfortable point A to point B cars. The idea was to emulate the Japanese as much as possible. Unfortunately, the execution was well off and the Saturns turned out to have severe problems with fit and finish, and the drivelines were incredibly un-refined when compared to their Japanese targets. In almost any review of a Saturn before the very late 1990's you will find mention of a noisy interior and a buzzy engine.

Chevy + GMC outsell Ford every year.
