Much cheaper than what they used to go for. The South Bend airport, which is right outside of Mishawaka, IN where the Hummer plant is, used to have a fully loaded Hummer in the lobby that ran almost $90,000. I have to admit though the new Hummers look frickin' sweet.

I thought they said they were aiming for under $50k since the prototype. $48k + options isnt that bad. A Hummer H1 runs $110,000(soft top) to $119,000(wagon) brand new.

I've seen a few of those.....even saw one in a nearby neighborhood, there were a bunch of neighbors gathered around it. :) (I live near Detroit, tons of people work for the car companies....both of my parents work for EDS :) )

Very nice car.....hopefully I'll get to drive one of those too. (Drove a Hummer last year)

starting at $48k? thats not that unreasonable. a fully equipped excursion or a suburban would run around that much. probably for those soccer moms who need more grocery hauling space....

Earth to the rest of you!!! ;)

For MOST of us around here...$48k isn't very attainable for a vehicle;) That's what I meant when I said that's alot of dough b/c to ME, that IS a lot of money.

Anyway I wonder if the option is the Duramx in place of the POS Detroit now also.

Wow, nice! We were looking at a hummer 5 years ago... but the price of them have gone up significantly. We settled on a Landcruiser which was a much more user friendly car :D The Hummer is also the only American car I would ever consider of buying.

Thanks for the price and links for pics

Yeah, but keep in mind, this is not very compareable to the original Hummer.

probably not. IIRC, i heard that GM is turning out 400 of them a day and not keeping up with demand.

I think, if anything, they'll drop in a motor from the H1 line instead. It will probably make more parts interchangeable and easier for the dealers to service.
