Down with general motors. May all American car companies go bust, because they sure as fvck deserve to.

Bahahahahha all those people that bought junk for a lousy couple of hundred dollars savings.

They'll all be sorry very soon.

good news for GM. Looks like all GM divisions had massive increases except for Pontiac (which had a 17.4% drop over last June).

I'm suprised Toyota/Nissan continued their sales momentum despite GM's monstrous performance.

ya, GM was really stupid. it was Pontiac that should have been shut down not Oldsmobile.

actually, they should have shut down BOTH pontiac and buick.

Chevrolet, Oldsmobile and Cadillac. that's what they should have done.

now, i guess it'll be Chevrolet, Buick and Cadilac. either way, pontiac has to go.

It's a great move if some people that wouldn't normally buy a GM vehicle do so, if they are just siphoning off sales from future months then it's not so good.

With the increase in quality that recently launched models have shown, it would be great if they capture a lost audience that has embraced foreign cars.

The problem, of course, is that when this discount offer ends nobody will buy anything.

True..

Even if GM isn't making any money.. at least they are getting rid of old inventory. Wouldn't you rather get rid of a dusty old car and get ready for the 2006 inventory??

Bingo!

Add to that the fact that GM is losing money on each car sold because their finances are already shot.

Edit: Because the Onion...er....union has broke them. Throw in a very underfunded "high paying" pension that pays for one retired person for every active person working, and you've got a real problem.
