Sorry, no link. My brother found it, and just told me what changes they announced, but doesn't have the source he got it from off hand. Apparently its pretty new, so no offical announcement yet.

They're going to move to a
400HP LS2 (Same powerplant as the C6)
Bigger brake rotors
Dual exhaust with one tip on each side (opposed to the single sided dual tips config they have now)
Some hood scoops. (Not sure if its an optional hood or standard)

Powerplant, rotors and exhaust sound good. Hoodscoops i'm not quite so sure about. Sure the old GTOs had the scoops, but this car looks nothing like the others. It has that very "clean" look, and I'm not quite sure how an aggressive hood scoop would look on the car. GM usually does a great job with the scoops, so theres a good chance it'll turn out nice.

I'll try and find the source, but my brother visits alot of different boards and sites it'll be difficult to cite the source.

i really wish GM would super/turbocharge some of their V8's, but its still a kick ass car i can't wait to drive my dads 67' goat

I bet GM is really wishing they still had the F-body right now. It would have made a sweet GTO with a comprehensive exterior renovation.

300+HP isn't enough for you? ;)

They really don't need to super/turbocharge the V8s, it makes more than enough power. The LS1/LS2 based engines are great designs.

Everyone says its bland, but I think the GTO looks nice.

Don't you mean 400+ HP ;)

I love how if Pontiac has hood scoops or aggressive body everybody says its to much, but Pontiac comes out with a fast car, seats 4, and has nice clean lines and it is ALSO ugly.
No BIAS here

I like it alot. Leaves room to be riced if thats what EVERYBODY here wants. Take a guess what, your scoops and 3 foot wing might look good  on yoru toyota or honda, but keep them off teh GTO :)

I also  the GTO.

One of the best all-round performance packages you can get right now for the price.

If I had the money, I'd choose the GTO over the G35 Coupe...and I'm a Nissan boy.

Well, he was talking about GM's V8s in general. Only the LS6 and the LS2 has 400+hp. I was including the LS1 in there as well, considering its still sold in some GM cars (Current GTO/Corvette), as well as some trucks.

Pontiacs styling has usually been pretty good IMO. I loved the Trans-Am's aggressive look, espically with its hood scoops on the WS6 package. The GTO, even though its a very sleek "clean" look, which is very different from the T/A, I love it. Of course they did create the Aztec, which is was hideous, but thats a different story. I think the GTO is a great looking car.

lol, bitter GM boy. There's a difference between being bland and ugly. So I take it that you think the Aztec looked good then?

The Monaro HSV beats out the competition (Ferrari, Porsche, etc..) in the Australian V8 Supercar series all the time.

if GM wasn't so involved with the CTS-v (if you can call it that) in Speed GT series, they would have put in the Monaro/GTO. But instead they managed to create a tube-frame CTS to blow the competition in Speed GT.

How about they make it 'not ugly' in 2006? Just a thought? Oh, and gotta love the resale value on those 2004 GTOs...at least they earned the name GOAT!

that's cause it wasn't really a CTS-v. It was a tube-framed race car with a CTS-v body and drivetrain. They changed the suspension geometry and pick up points..and since it was tube-framed they reduced the weight dramatically.

Well thats the thing I dont even know why they allowed it in only to have it be restricted later on... guess they underestimated it.

Well they evened out the field so it didnt dominate like it did... it was still fast enough since it was on a charge right before it ended under yellow... 3rd and 5th for the caddys... 1-2 for the RS6. seeing how those audis launch from the line makes me feel sorry for their trannys. :Q :D
