The unfortunate thing is that they'll probably have dumped the hot button thing by the time this discount hits, along with a couple other incentives on that 9-2x, which is incidentally the only GM that I'm really interested in-ironic since it's mostly because it's not built by GM.

I'd probably talk my mother into buyer a 9-2X Aero otherwise, she's been looking for a car she can drive...

If we could get the GM employee price plus the existing discounts I'd probably drive to another state just to dump my car at Carmax hahaha.

Exactly, my Honda Accord is super reliable. 90K miles and no major repairs! Keep them well maintained and they will push 150K easily.

Can't say the same for the Ford Tarus I had, $$$ repairs at the dealer.

Does anyone have an idea on the discount for a Caddy SRX compared to invoice?

I'm hearing conflicting messages, some say discount is off MSRP and others say its off Invoice. Not sure MSRP is relevant if none of the GM cars are selling for at or more than MSRP.

Anyone have an idea on what the GMS pricing would be on an AWD Pontiac Vibe?

That's about the only GM product that I'd be interested in since they exclude the 'vette. I'd take the Pontiac/GTO badges on it and restore it to a Holden Monaro :D

Seriously...foreign cars are so much better than domestic ones.

It's not just GM... Chrysler has some fuglyness in their lineup as well (the Crossfire, for example :barf; ), and BMW (wtf were they thinking?). But yes, GM is guilty too. IMO, most of the newer Cadillacs are just really strange and ugly looking.

BMW's are hot <3

I wouldn't generalize like that...the Impala is top ten for sales in the U.S.

this is from the GM press release on how to find employee pricing
'Consumers also can confirm the price of a specific vehicle by entering the vehicle's VIN number on www.gmbuypower.com.'

anyone figure out where to enter the vin?

it's b/c their cars and trucks have sh**ty intake manifolds that crack after 20,000 mi. and create fluid leaks and transmission problems

I'm currently driving a Grand Am with 49,000 miles on it. No transmission problems. Zero leaks.

Boy, we are getting some thoroughly stupid foreign fanboi posts in this thread.

I bet even the usual foreign fanbois are cringing.

BTW - if someone is truly interested in GMS prices on vehicles, PM me.

GMS pricing is NOT a discount off of MSRP. it reduces the cost of everything a set amount, options drop down, everything. normally it is below invoice. on the Cobalt is was about 8% off, as you go higher in costs, the discount is a larger percentage.

Ok - it's a link now on http://www.gmbuypower.com and not applicable to the 'vette and medium duty trucks. Looks like the offer is good until July 5th?

Anyways, a GTO in my area would cost $30,293.23 GM Discount Quote
Not bad - though I did get my Pony with tax/title/and tags for a whole lot less with the Ford X-Plan. But if I didn't have that, I surely would have jumped at this. Where else could you get 400HP of V-8 goodness.for this price? Certainly not from any current offerings from Deutschland or Nippon :D

Pooh on what the reviewers at Edmunds said..they can't drive worth a !$!$!!##~. The LS2 powered Goat is certainly a low 13's and possilby a high 12's car with the right driver and track conditions.

Hmmm, after looking through the LS1 forums, even with the GM Employee discount, I'd wait till the end of the year for a GTO...if I was in the market for such a car. Seems that some where able to get new '04's for low as $20,500. Dayum GM, you're in deep doo-doo.

there is way too much b.s. posted in this thread. here's a direct link to gm's offer, which ends 7/5/05.

GM Employee Discount for Everyone Event

i drive a chevy which is a damm good car, much better than my previous ford.. if i were the owner of gm and looking at a $1.1 billion loss in the first quarter of 2005... i prob drop gas guzzling suv's , like the hummer line to start, who the hell needs a suv that gets 9mpg. the way oil prices are today and how much more expensive they will be soon, only makes sense to start making cars that get at least 30mpg if not more.

the employee discount drops the retail price of your vehicle about 20%, i paid 30% off retail when i got my car, so this deal is pretty good, you can always negotiate down more.

gm also lets you get out of your lease early, up to 18 mos with no penalties, as long as you drive another gm product..no one else does that.. ya have to wait for that promotion to come around, it does every 2 years or so.

Um, you would get fired the same day if you dropped the Hummer line. Thats one of their hottest sellers. I think the H2 at one time or another was one of the hottest selling cars out there.
