NEW YORK General Motors is denying a report that it and Toyota are in talks about hybrid vehicle technology-sharing.
The report ran on the Web site of the "Wall Street Journal."

It says G-M chief executive Rick Wagoner is planning to head to Japan this month to meet with top Toyota officials.

G-M spokesman Scott Fosgard says Wagoner is visiting Japan to see the 20005 World Expo this month but isn't discussing technology with Toyota.

And Fosgard says no such talks are under way at any level.

In December, G-M and DaimlerChrysler announced a program to jointly develop fuel-saving hybrid engines, a field in which Toyota and Honda now lead.

Could just be they have to license some crap just like Ford and Toyota had to swap some since they both develop the same stuff. Every jornalist out there is slamming GM with anything they can think off ATM.

Toyota confirmed that GM Chief Executive Rick Wagoner and Toyota President Fujio Cho are meeting when Wagoner visits the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, where Toyota is based, this weekend.

The Nihon Keizai Shimbun, Japan's biggest business daily, reported Thursday that Cho and Wagoner may be discussing Saturday a possible joint venture to produce fuel cell vehicles in the United States although the report denied a deal was imminent.
